The Joy of My Life

There's this Dream I have:

My mind is at rest,

and my heart is fulfilled. 

Like a mid spring day,

The sun is outside,

The wind is slightly cold.

I see your face,

You grab my hand,

Interlock your fingers. 

We're laughing,

and You can't stop smiling.

You know me,

I know you.

My best friend,

Your full heart. 

Have I told you hun?

You're the joy of my life.

You rest your head on my shoulder,

I rest my head on yours.

You snuggle in close,

I pull you in tight. 

You're telling me about your dreams,

I listen,

and envision making them all come true. 

You know my heart,

All I ever want:

You in my arms,

as I kiss the top of your head..

I'm the luckiest man alive..

How I want to tell you,

You're the joy of my life.

The first time that I saw you,

I couldn't believe it was coming true.

You were more beautiful than I could have imagined,

Lovelier than I could have every thought I deserved..

The first time you laughed,

That moment we kissed,

Like magnets pulling us together..

It was then that I knew,

Hands interlocked,

You'd become the Joy of my life. 

It was a late this night,

An incredibly long day.

You had the awful experience,

It drove you to your worst fears.

So I drove through a storm,

To silence your fears,

To calm your mind,

To help make your burdens light..

Little did you know,

How I've always known.. 

Just holding you,

Was all I needed,

and the world went away...

The fears silenced,

You cried in my arms.. 

Oh hun,

It's so easy with you.

It's so easy with me.

As long as we've been together,

In each others space..

Happiness,

Lights,

Yet passionate,

No worries,

or Stresses,

or Fears.

Our minds calm.. 

It's as if we were made to make each other happy.

You fell for me at my lowest,

Hun, you're perfect,

Regardless of what you think,

and regardless of what you do.

Hell, I'd do anything for you. 

I won't ever forget,

Can't ever look passed,

I may not have had much then,

But you earned all of me.

And though I had no clue it was happening,

And fell head over heels..

When it came to less,

Oh, it came to walking our separate ways,

External forces sought to pull us apart...

Yet,

That mystic force wouldn't let us separate...

This moment in this dream,

the dream I pray to be living,

It's all up in the air now;

But every smile,

to every moment more,

Getting closer in those moments..

Well hun, it's always been you,

and it's always been me.

I'm just grateful to be able to share your air space.

And pray it never ends...
