The Sun Shines on you.

I caught sight of this fleeting image,

The sun is setting,

Tears glistening in your eyes,

A faint smile on your lips..


I've never had such a sight,

Burn itself into my mind... 


You're gone.

As it's been before,

Again and again,

Over and over.

Though I think that this time is different,

It's feels, different...


I can't read your mind, yet I see it in your eyes. 

I'm left seeing,

Left knowing,

It was there,

It's always been there...


Time and time again.

I look at you,

You look at me,

Can you ever know?

Can you ever really know?


You say the sun doesn't shine for you,

Yet I see it in your eyes,

Feel it from your heart.


Though the loneliness you feel,

The loneliness you know..

Even if it doesn't seem sensible, 

I see it in your eyes,

Oh how I wish you knew,

That this isn't meant for you..


I can't read your mind,

Though I try all the time,

I see it in your eyes.

This time, as always,

There's something that I know..


Now you're gone,

A hole has been placed,

Even if the gap is filled.

You can always sense me,

As I sense you.


I will never be able to guess,

What it is you're looking for.

Time after time,

Again and again


I see the loneliness you feel,

Though I can't hear those words your mind is saying..

Again and again,

I hold you in my arms,

Carry you before you fall,

again and again... 


You're looking at me,

As I'm looking at you.

It's that glimmer in your eye,

That glimmer from your soul.

Oh how it's been there all along...


Do you ever really know?

Can you ever really know?


I hope you can feel it someday,

The sun has always been shining on you,

As it's always been there.


Someday you will find it,

That "thing" you're looking for,

Somehow I think you'll realize,

That you had it all along...


Yet, at the end of it all,

Through the myriad of thoughts and feelings we've shared,

And though a corner has been rounded,

I'm still left in awe,

of this women I've adored..
