Still the Same
As time past's
Life moves on.
People you knew, change in ways.
But yet that same person you remembered them as.
Songs may change,
Situations happened,
But again... It's still the same.
Many times you thought it could have been different.
You hope.
You fight for it.
You bled for it.
Yet it just stayed what it was.
Damn.
I would say..
It's never over until you say it's over.
Many people told you to stop, a long time ago.
Yet.. you didn't?
because damn it felt so good.
But was it worth it?
Well for me, I try to live my life like that person you see in the movies.
Yeah the one you would say "they've never had any regrets."
But lets be honest here... Do you really think, that is true?
I've done some pretty stupid things in my day. Made the same mistake many of times.
I've been arrogant, I've talked to much, I've lied to those I've loved. I've hurt them too.
DO I regret doing that? well... YES. I like to think I have a soul.
So yes. I do regret saying some of the things I've said.
But I don't regret feeling so good, even if it was so wrong.
And I probably would do it over the same way.
Different situation.. similar outcome.
Damn.
I did it again.
So you say.. I forgive you.
That same person,
won't ever forget though.
It's a fact of life, that if you make a similar mistake again,
that person will point out your past.
That's why being around family is so hard sometimes.
You're always that same person you were as a kid.
No matter how hard you try to change it.
I do believe,
people can change.
Yet... the person they are inside?
Well I'd bet they're very close to that person you once knew.
remember - you can't hide your eyes.
Your eyes will always give you away.
Sometimes you become dead inside.
I've been there, so I know.
Time will bring you back.
The darkness in your eyes,
Can transform into a color of understanding.
Those that have felt the most.
Feel the most.
Rather they'd admit it or not.
That's why I appreciate pain,
just as much as I appreciate joy and pleasure.
One in the same.. many of times.
In closing,
remember who you are.
Whoever or whatever that may be.
Stick to it.
Even when you feel like you've fallen.
even when the world threatens to take everything away from you.
Stand tall.
